Publication Specifications

Synergia, a multidisciplinary journal published twice a year, accepts for publication original research papers submitted in Spanish or English that are related to various disciplines aligned with the journal’s core themes, such as:

1) Biological, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences
2) Exact Sciences and Engineering
3) Health Sciences
4) Social Sciences and Humanities
5) Economics and Business Administration.

Submissions may include: scientific articles, literature reviews, case studies, essays, book reviews, and interviews. All contributions must be of high quality, unpublished, and original. They must not have been published in whole or in part in another medium, nor may they be submitted simultaneously to another publication. The author(s) must sign a Declaration of Originality.

Additionally, authors must sign a Copyright Assignment Agreement so that their contribution may be reproduced, distributed, communicated, and disseminated on a non-profit basis (Open Access). All submissions are reviewed using the Peer Review process and checked with plagiarism detection software.

When submitting your work, you must include the following documents:

The original, unpublished manuscript. Anonymized. In .docx format
Full names of the authors (the authorship list should indicate the order in which authors appear). Maximum of 4 authors per publication. For the essay format, a maximum limit of two authors is established. Any proposal exceeding this number must include, at the time of submission, a detailed academic justification explaining the necessity and distinctive contribution of each additional author, subject to the approval of the Editorial Committee.

Each author must provide their institutional affiliation, a brief biographical sketch (3 to 4 lines), email address, and ORCID. In the same document, the contribution of each researcher must be specified according to the CRediT Taxonomy.

This document should be submitted as a separate file from the manuscript in .docx format.
The Copyright Assignment Letter signed by each author. Submitted in PDF format.
The Declaration of Originality signed by each author. Submitted in PDF format.

Submitted manuscripts must have the following structure:

Research article.

Title: In Spanish, no more than 15 words.
Abstract: Minimum length of 150 words, maximum length of 250 words. Must be in Spanish and English.
Keywords: Must be listed in a thesaurus (UNESCO, DeCS, MeSH, etc.). Must be in English and Spanish.
Introduction: Must include the problem statement, literature review, and rationale.
Objective: States the main purpose of the manuscript.
Method: Describes in detail the method used for the study, participant selection, sampling, study type, research design, the instruments used, the data analysis procedure, and ethical considerations.
Results: The results obtained in the study are described. Data are presented in an orderly and concise manner. Tables and figures may be used, preferably.
Conclusions: Relevant findings derived from the research.
References: Must include a minimum of 20 references.

Length: Minimum of 15 pages, maximum of 20 pages. Excluding references.

Literature Reviews.

Title: In Spanish, no more than 15 words.

Conclusions: Summary of arguments and contributions, with a well-founded personal opinion.
References: Must include a minimum of 15 references.

Length: Minimum of 15 pages, maximum of 20 pages. Excluding references.

 

Interviews

Title: In Spanish, no more than 15 words.
Abstract: Minimum length of 150 words, maximum length of 250 words. Must be in Spanish and English.
Keywords: Must be listed in a thesaurus (UNESCO, DeCS, MeSH, etc.). Must be in English and Spanish.
Introduction: Provides a brief contextualization of the problem and contributions from relevant literature:
Objective: States the main purpose of the manuscript.
Main Body: Questions should be open-ended and designed to explore the topic in depth; use a question-answer format (Q: / A: or the names of the participants in bold); brief notes from the interviewer may be included between answers if they help describe nonverbal language or the context of the encounter.
Discussion: This is a section of analysis by the interviewer. It is not part of the direct dialogue, but rather a reflection on what new ideas or original perspectives this interview offers in the field of knowledge.
Conclusion: The author’s closing section, which summarizes the main findings and offers a final reflection on the conversation’s impact on the discipline.
References: Must include a minimum of 5 references.

Length: Minimum of 10 pages, maximum of 15 pages. References not included.

 

Book Reviews.

Title: Must be in Spanish and refer to the author’s published work.
Abstract: Minimum length of 100 words, maximum length of 200 words. Must be in Spanish and English.
Keywords: Must be listed in a thesaurus (UNESCO, DeCS, MeSH, etc.). Must be in English and Spanish.
Introduction: Justification and relevance of the work, and the purpose of this review.
Body: Discussion of the author, highlighting the Latin American context; works must be recent (published no more than four years prior to submitting the review).
Conclusion: Final reflection on the work.
References: Only from the work

Length: Minimum of 4 pages, maximum of 8 pages. Excluding references.
