Abstract

Intercultural communication has become a fundamental strategic tool for companies operating in multicultural contexts, especially as a result of the phenomenon of globalization. This process has led to the expansion of organizations into national and international territories, resulting in the encounter of diverse organizational and social cultures. One of the main challenges identified is the emergence of cultural conflicts arising from the clash between different ways of thinking, values, customs and languages. These conflicts can negatively affect the achievement of organizational objectives such as customer satisfaction and market positioning. Intercultural communication helps reduce misunderstandings, foster respect and empathy, promote cultural adaptation and establish healthy interpersonal relationships within organizations. This skill involves cognitive, emotional and social components, including the development of cultural intelligence, empathy, assertive communication and conflict resolution.
